Sickle Cell Fighters – There is a need to increase donations to meet the needs of all patients, especially those who may need a transfusion during a sickle cell crisis. One in three who identify as Black or African American are a potential match for a patient in need.
POWER REDS – We continue our drive to increase red blood cell collections from those who are blood type O-, O+, A-, B-. If you have one of these blood types, please ask more about how you can help!
NOTE: In alignment with new FDA regulations, the American Red Cross is now accepting donors who spent time in France, Ireland or the U.K. between 1980 and 2001, opening eligibility for hundreds of thousands who were previously ineligible to give blood or platelets.
