Lent Midweek Worship – March 17

Lent Midweek Worship – March 17

The Prodigal Son – In this familiar parable, Jesus told the story of a son who hurt his father deeply through disrespect and poor decisions.  The son deserves nothing, yet when he returns to his father, he receives everything.  Like the son, we so often turn away from God and all He has given us.  Yet, God’s mercies never end.  When we turn back, He will always meet us joyfully with mercy and love.

In scripture, the word “turn” is used to describe how sin turns us away from God, and draws us toward the temptations of this world.  Yet, no matter how far we stray, God always desires that we RETURN to Him. And when we return, we RECEIVE.
As we walk together through the season of Lent, on Wednesdays we’ll learn from the stories of figures in scripture who returned to God after a time away. On Sundays, we’ll be reminded of the promises God makes through Christ and all that we receive when we return to Him. Get details HERE.
