Dear Friends,
Can you believe it’s already November? The season of fall is in full effect with the leaves changing colors and the temperature dropping. And you’ve probably noticed that fall is in full effect here at St. Andrew too! Over the past two months, it feels like there has been some exciting event happening every weekend! From baptisms and confirmations, to our Trunk or Treat Fall Festival, all leading up to an incredible celebration of the 70th anniversary of The Lutheran Church of St. Andrew – seventy years of ministry, worship, and God’s work in the lives of so many people – indeed it is a great blessing to be part of this church. Now let’s go for 70 more!
November will keep us busy too as the calendar is chock-full with some really exciting events. Our annual Arts & Crafts Holiday Fair kicks us off during the first weekend of the month, followed by a Lock-In for SALTeens the next weekend. Our Wellspring Women’s Conference takes place on Saturday, November 16, with internationally-known speaker Ellie Lofaro coming to lead an awesome day for the women of our congregation and many others we hope will attend. Common Ground is continuing, and Bible studies and small groups are in full swing. Those are just some of the exciting things happening around here.
November often marks a time when families get busy and calendars fill up with extra events as the holiday season begins. Despite the added activities and distractions, what better way to express your thanks for all that God is doing than to continue to worship Him? The most exciting thing about November for me is that it begins a season of more opportunities to worship! I don’t know about you, but I can’t think of anything better than the chance to gather with my church family and praise God! Our annual Thanksgiving Eve service happens on Wednesday, November 27 and the following Sunday, we enter into the season of Advent. This means not only will we have our weekly worship services on Sunday and Monday, but we’ll also have our mid-week Wednesday Advent Jazz Vespers, too!
By God’s grace, there are so many wonderful and exciting things to be part of here at St. Andrew! My hope and prayer for you is that, as the season gets busier and life pulls you in all kinds of directions, you will continue to find Christ at the center of it all. Make time to give thanks to Him and for Him, alongside all of your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ!
God’s Grace and Peace be yours!
Blessings + Love,
Pastor González
